The Spec Miata field at Road Atlanta was exceptionally deep and featured National champions, June Sprints and ARRC champions as well as pro drivers!
In Saturday’s National, Andrew Carbonnel, driving a Rossini powered Spec Miata for BSI Racing showed why he is a pro driver, as he kept his head and drove a fine race to finish 2nd behind Pat Sandlin after a last corner incident sidelined the two leaders. Alex Bolanos drove his Spec Miata to a fine 3rd place and Danny Steyn in his Rossini powered Spec Miata finished 7th.
In Sunday’s National Race 2, Alex Bolanos finished on the podium in 3rd place and Steyn was 4th. Carbonnel had an incident at T10B but managed to recover and drove back into 8th place.
Watch Steyn’s in-car video from Race2. Very close clean racing!
Bolanos book-ended his great Road Atlanta weekend with a 2nd place finish in the Pro-IT, and Steyn took 2nd place in the ECR.
Another fine weekend for Rossini engines!
